Evan's 1st Birthday!

We had a great time celebrating Evan's first birthday with family and friends. We had a nice lunch and some really good cake. Evan's Auntie Michelle and her boyfriend, Shane, bought him his birthday cake. It was a glove and his cake was a baseball. It turned out great. Evan wasn't too sure about the cake at first and it took him a little bit to warm up. I eventually had to split the cake in half and then he started going nuts. He got enough presents to open his own toy shop! We appreciated everyone coming over to celebrate wtih us.

Getting Ready

We're getting ready for Evan's 1st birthday party this weekend. I can't believe he's turning 1 already. The year has gone by very fast! He loves to read books, push toys and laugh at the dogs. He likes to watch and observe people too.

We will be celebrating on Sunday, his actual birthday, with our families and some friends. It will be nice to celebrate with them. We can't wait to see what he think of cake!

We are also getting ready for vacation. We will doing a road trip to Huntsville, Alabama and Pensacola, Alabama. Steve's Mom will also be joining us. We will be visting his Uncle, Aunt and cousins. We can't wait to leave and explore Alabama and take Evan to the Gulf! Only 10 more day!! We will have a lot of packing to do!

Mother's Day

We had a great first Mother's Day. The sun finally came out and it was a warm day. The three of us headed to the Twins game. They played Baltimore. Our section was in the shade the entire time. It was a little cool and I was glad I brought Evan's mittens with. Steve and I shared some hot chocolate. Steve and I each tried something new. I had a Cuban sandwich, it was great! I liked it a lot better than the steak sandwich. I was full after eating that! Steve tried a Kramarcyk's bratwurst. He really liked that. The line was long when we first, so it's better to wait until after the game starts. When we got home I got 2 cards from my favorite boys! Steve let Evan sign his name on the card, so that was very cute. I'm sure Steve made sure Evan signed it with his left hand since he's trying to get Evan to be left handed like him!!! It was a great first mother's day! I hope all the other mother's out there had a wonderful day too!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

We went to our very first game at Target Field on Sunday, April 18th and took Evan to his very first Twins game. It was a perfect day to be outside. We were in the shade up until about the 3rd inning. We started getting full sun after that and after the 6th inning we had to watch the rest of the game from under the canopy. A little too much sun for Evan.

Evan enjoyed watching all the people. I bought him a Twins cap for the occasion. He wore it for the most part. The only disappointing part of the day was that the Twins lost :( Oh well, maybe next time we go they can pull a win!

A day at the zoo

We went to the Minnesota Zoo this past Sunday. What a beautiful day to be there! The weather was perfect. Evan really wasn't too into it, but he did enjoy the fish, sheep, goat, and leopard. He really enjoyed watching the leopard pace back and forth in front of the window. His head would swivel back and forth. He really liked the goats. I think that's because they were the size of our dogs. He got to pet them and I tried to show him how to be gentle.

At the end of the day he got to have his first lick of ice cream - mint chocolate chip. Probably the favorite part of his day!

Unhealthy few weeks

The last few weeks have been unhealthy ones in our house. Steve has been the only one not getting sick. Evan ended up getting pink eye. We have no idea where he picked that up from. Then I ended up getting an ear infection, cold, and possible pink eye. Evan is better now and hopefully I start to get better soon!

Easter is fast approaching and we can't wait to celebrate Evan's first Easter and hang out with Steve's family. Hopefully the Easter bunny will be good this year!

Off to the Doctor...

Yesterday we had our first non-wellness visit. Evan has pink eye. He woke up yesterday afternoon with a pink and swollen eye. Off to the Doctor we went. We got a prescription for some eye drops and he started those. Tonight he looks much better and we'll be back on schedule tomorrow. I'm sure this is the first of many visits to the Doctor. We've been lucky so far. 10 months without a non-wellness visit is pretty good!
